I'm Julie Rorrer, an Arnold O. Beckman Postdoctoral Fellow in chemical engineering at MIT in the Yuriy Roman-Leshkov group specializing in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and a Fellow of the MIT Communication Lab. I received my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019 and my B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University in 2014.

I am also the founder and lead illustrator of the ongoing outreach initiative, ColorMePhD, a free resource communicating current PhD-level research in science and engineering to a broad audience using coloring pages.

Feel free to explore my research, teaching, and science communication interests, and reach out if you want to get in touch!

Big news: Starting in January 2023, I will be joining the department of chemical engineering as an assistant professor at the University of Washington in Seattle! If you are an admitted graduate student to the chemical engineering department, feel free to reach out.
